Supporting you through treatment

Haircare Support During Treatment

We work closely with a few amazing local hairdressers. If you are going through or starting treatment and would like to chat to them about your journey and how they can support you, please drop us a message.

You can arrange to come to the centre on a quiet day, to talk through your hair during treatment in private, unrushed with a cuppa, rather than a busy salon.

Hair loss during treatment can be incredibly hard and there are several options available to you to feel more comfortable on this journey. Our hairdressers can help you by fitting wigs, showing you how to use hair wraps and using the centre salon room to provide pre-treatment hair cuts in a quiet setting, at your own pace

Access to a bathroom

You can find these in the Centre bathroom and they are 100% free to take home.

A useful wee card for taking with you if you're away from public toilets and are prone to needing the loo in a hurry.

We can make these in any language so if you're going on holiday and need a translation for a quick loo break, then let us know and we can make one up for you before you go

Maggies Highland Centre in Inverness

Whatever kind of cancer, and whatever stage you’re at – Maggies is here for you.

Maggies centre is a space for being together or for a moment alone, for getting going again or for meeting people who just get it. All their cancer support specialists have expert knowledge about cancer and treatment, and many are NHS-trained.

Located right beside Raigmore Hospital, the centre supports both people with cancer and those who care for those with cancer.

If you are travelling down from the North Highlands, the Maggies Centre is a peaceful space for you to use while you're down for treatment, appointments or for your companion to relax in while you are at the hospital.

Here at the Centre, we are a non-medical team, but we work closely with the Macmillan team to make sure you get the information you need, at the time you need it most. Check out their page on Treatment below.
