Job Description
Purpose
Lead the day-to-day running and strategic development of the North Highland Cancer Information & Support Centre. Manage centre operations, support volunteers and staff, coordinate services, and develop relationships with external partners to grow and sustain the Centre.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage day-to-day Centre operations including opening/closing, health & safety, and volunteer support.
· Maintain administrative and financial records, including regular communications from email, phone calls and meetings.
· Organise committee meetings, produce newsletters.
· Develop and expand services based on community needs and feedback.
· Build links with health professionals, local groups, and businesses.
· Collaborate with Volunteer Coordinator on recruitment and support.
· Assist in planning and executing fundraising to ensure long-term sustainability.
· Support employees and work collaboratively to increase engagement.
· Raise the Centre’s profile and increase membership locally
· Represent the Centre at community and professional events
· Work towards establishing funding sources beyond current grant schemes

· Core hours with some flexibility, including occasional evenings or weekends

Essential Skills & Experience
· Proven leadership or management experience, preferably in charity, health, or community sector
· Excellent organisational skills, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work independently and take initiative
· Proficient with IT: email, calendars, Microsoft Office, social media
Desirable Skills & Experience
· Knowledge or personal experience of cancer support services or similar
· Experience managing or working with volunteers
· Strong knowledge with the local community and relevant networks
· Experience in fundraising, community engagement, or partnership development
